SYLLABUS

  1. DAY ONE: Improvisational quilt top construction, renaming quilt blocks and work session

  2. DAY TWO: Work session and group sharing!

We will use Zoom in creative ways to develop a sense of togetherness in the digital container, you can always keep your camera off or choose to not participate in any part of class

Dedication! Devotion! A finished object!

Spend six hours in digital community over a Spring weekend working on a quilt : Improvising within traditional log cabin and housetop quilt squares

We’ll look at the histories of these two squares, their names, and dream up new futures for how we name our own quilt squares and finished quilts

No rulers no rules no rotary cutters

(unless you’re into that)

We’ll make a crib sized quilt in two days! Its  possible! It’s magic!

You’ll need :

Fabric scraps to make the front

One piece of fabric for the back measuring two in bigger than your batting (crib size is 60 by 45) - you could prepare this before class or make it in class- I like to use a piece of muslin this size

Batting - I prefer Dream Cotton

Scissors

Sewing Machine

Embroidery Floss
