<aside> ⚪ In a series of short lessons and writing prompts I’ll guide you through everything I learned in my time away, and strategies and systems you can implement to guard your creative time with fierce protection and admiration for ourselves as writers and artists. No matter where you are in your process of creating and sharing : a successful business person or just starting out, you can tailor the workshop to your needs! The best part : nothing is good or bad! TV rules! Phones are fun! Shopping woohoo! And ANYTHING can become the thing that pulls us away.

🦋 Maintaining the many pots on the stove

🦋 Putting down the think

🦋 Ways of moving through and beyond perfectionism

🦋 Carving out focused time for practice

🦋 Identifying the differences between ROADBLOCKS
and DISTRACTIONS

DISCLAIMER

Whether you are neurodivergent, ADHD, have a mood disorder, chronic pain, the list goes on - how much access we have to our creative attention is dependent on many factors. It is important to remember I am facilitating as an artist, not as a therapist or someone trained within modalities of mental health. What this means is you'll have to take what you like and leave the rest! Not everything will work for every person, this course will, however, empower you to have the information to mold and fit to your specific needs and desires. It will also help you determine the difference between excuses and real roadblocks. This part might activate - that's good : may the pushing back guide you closer to yourself. See you there!

I started dancing as a child and went on to get my BFA in Dance from the University of Michigan. My dance studies continue with The Architects, my dance mentors in compositional improvisation. I have been creatively self employed since 2013 when I opened Have Company which was a shop, gallery, and artist residency in Grand Rapids, MI. I have written two books - How to Not Always be Working and Getting to Center : Pathways to Finding Yourself within the Great Unknown and self published a book this year with advice from my community radio show Friendship Village, and in 2016 self published a book about Personal Practice, my dance instagram project that has been featured in The New York Times, Dance Magazine, Vanity Fair, and more.
